Sports Illustrated wanted to present its clients with media
packages that were more than just advertising to reach a specific
audience. Sports Illustrated also wanted to create brand building
opportunities to introduce their new product, SI Adventure.
Volkswagen was a client that Sports Illustrated wanted to
offer a more value added opportunity to increase their advertising
investment and further their relationship with Sports Illustrated.
Untraditional Marketing created a series of advertisements
in Sports Illustrated and a series of ads in SI Adventure
for Volkswagen, and created SI Adventure gear town at the
Teva Mountain Games, a national expo of mountain recreational
activities and mountain lifestyle culture. The result for
Sports Illustrated was a multiple year contract with Volkswagen.
Volkswagen, in return was able to target their new product
the Toureg at a specific audience represented at the Teva
Mountain Games
